The enclosure movement encouraged industrialization in Great Britain because the large landowners closed off formerly common land that had been used as arable fields or grazing areas by small farmers. Therefore, the small farmers had to migrate to urban areas for jobs which encouraged industrialization.

What was the enclosure movement?

The enclosure movement pushed to privatize this land starting withinside the twelfth century. The motion originated in England in the course of the Early Modern period. Nobles drove for control of the land, arguing that it'd be greater effective than their use.

While the Enclosure Movement did make agriculture greater effective, giving farmers the ability to feed a bigger population, poor farmers had been driven off their land and lost their livelihoods.

Therefore, Due to the enclosure movement, the small farmers had to migrate to urban areas for jobs which encouraged industrialization.
