Type the correct answer for each box write your answer in decimal form rounded to the nearest tenth if necessary type the soluti
stira [4]

The solution is x=-1 and x=-0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression is 2x(x+1.5)=-1

Multiplying the term x+1.5 by 2x, we get,

2x^{2} +3x=-1

Adding both sides by 1,

2x^{2} +3x+1=0

Taking factor, we get,

\begin{array}{r}{x^{2}+2 x+x+1=0} \\{2 x(x+1)+1(x+1)=0} \\{(2 x+1)(x+1)=0}\end{array}

Equating the factors to 0,

\begin{aligned}2 x+1 &=0 \\2 x &=-1 \\x &=-\frac{1}{2}\\x&=-0.5\end{aligned} and \begin{aligned}x+1 &=0 \\x &=-1\end{aligned}

Thus, the smaller value is x=-1

The solution is x=-1 and x=-0.5

What are the roots of the polynomial equation x3-7x=6x-12?
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
This is not a polynomial equation unless one of those is squared.  As it stands x=-.833.  If you can tell me which is squared I can help solve the polynomial.

Ok, that is usually notated as x^3 to be clear.   I'll solve it now.

x^3-13x-12=0

Then use factor theorum to solve x^3-13x-12/x+1 =0
So you get one solution of x+1=0
x=-1

Then you have x^2-x-12 now you complete the square.

Take half of the x-term coefficient and square it. Add this value to both sides. In this example we have:

The x-term coefficient = −1

The half of the x-term coefficient = −1/2

After squaring we have (−1/2)2=1/4

When we add 1/4 to both sides we have:

x2−x+1/4=12+1/4

STEP 3: Simplify right side

x2−x+1/4=49/4

STEP 4: Write the perfect square on the left.

<span>(x−1/2)2=<span>49/4
</span></span>

STEP 5: Take the square root of both sides.

x−1/2=±√49/4

STEP 6: Solve for x.

<span>x=1/2±</span>√49/4

that is,

<span>x1=−3</span>

<span>x2=4</span>

<span>and the one from before </span>

<span>x=-1</span>

Pls help me with this question and explain how you got the answer!!!!!
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

-87

Step-by-step explanation:

So, first to find <em>x</em> you need to subtract 121 from 180. You do this because both the angle which measures 121 degrees and <em>x</em> lie on the same line, and since a line has an angle measure of 180, you do 180-121 to find <em>x</em>. The same thing can be done for <em>y</em>. Since the angle measure of 34 degrees and y lie on the same line you can calculate 180-34 to get <em>y. </em>So, let's do that.

180-121=x

59=x

180-34=y

146=y

Once you've done that you can easily subtract the two and get your answer.

x-y

substitute the answer for the variables and get

59-146

and then your answer is

-87

The diameter of a circle is 15 in. Which measure below cannot be a chord on the same circle?
diamong [38]
It's c 18, because the diameter is the longest chord so it would be greater than 15.
