Imagine that you are a new employee at a child care program. You are working with a classroom of 14 children, you notice that a

four year old girl Leila, is often quiet and disengaged from activities. She has a hard time interacting with other children, gets easily frustrated, and often appears to be very tired. Her clothes are sometimes dirty. Different family members come to pick her up from care. Leila does no appear exited to see some of them. She has mentioned that she missed her father, and that her family is living with her grandmother.
It seems like Leila may need some additional support in the classroom. How can you begin supporting her in the classroom?
