A gas piston is a system that is used in the generators to produce energy. With the change in the volume of the piston at the constant pressure, the energy in joules is, 266.49 J.

What is energy?

The energy of the system is given by the negative product of the pressure and the change in the volume.

Given,

Pressure = 2.12 atm

Initial volume = 0.260 L

Final volume = 1.50 L

Energy = -PΔV

= - (2.12) (1.24)

= - 2.63 L. atm

Converting the units:

1 L atm = 101.325 J

-2.63 L atm = 266.49 J

Therefore, 266.49 J is the energy.

Explanation:

The force that acts against your pushing force is called friction. is a force that resists the motion between two surfaces in contact. When you try to slide two surfaces across each other, the force of friction resists the sliding motion.
