Elodia [21]

Answer:

quadrants

Explanation:

Abdomen- This is a part of the human body which contains the important digestive organs such as stomach, large intestine, small intestine, etc.

It is very common to have problems in a person's abdomen because it naturally contains very important organs needed for survival. Once this happens, the person needs to go to a medical practitioner to have himself examined.

In a clinical setting, the practitioner observes the person's abdomen by mapping out the region in order to point out which area is problematic. There are four equal sections in the abdomen. These sections are also called "quadrants."

The Four Abdominal Quadrants

1. Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ)- This includes the pancreas, liver, right kidney, gallbladder, intestines.

2. Right Lower Quadrant (RLQ)- This includes the colon (upper part), appendix, right ovary and Fallopian tube (for women).

3. Left Upper Quadrant (LUQ)- This includes the stomach, spleen, part of the pancreas, left kidney, colon (upper part) and liver (small parts of it).

4. Left Lower Quadrant (LLQ)- This includes the left ureter, a part of the colon, lower part of the kidney, left ovary, left fallopian tube (for women) and left spermatic cord (for men).

If a person feels pain in any of the regions, it can indicate a problem in any of the underlying organs.
