Tommy has a rectangular-shaped swimming pool. he wants to know the volume of water in the pool, but he is not sure what the widt

h of the
pool is. he knows the relationship between the width and the length and height of the pool. he used this relationship to come up with the
following equation to find the volume of the pool when the width is w meters.

The graph that satisfies the given condition is the (b) graph X

<h3>How to determine the graph?</h3>

The graph that completes the question is added as an attachment

The volume of a rectangular-shaped swimming pool is

V = L * W * H

Where:

  • L represents Length
  • W represents Width
  • H represents Height
  • And all the dimensions are greater than 0

This means that:

  • The graph of V (i.e. the volume graph) must have three x intercepts
  • The graph of V must not pass through the origin (0,0)

From the given graphs, the graph that satisfies the above condition is the graph X:

This is because it crosses the x-axis three times, and it does not pass through the origin

Match each interval with its corresponding average rate of change for q(x) = (x + 3)2. 1. -6 ≤ x ≤ -4 1 2. -3 ≤ x ≤ 0 -4 3. -6 ≤
MrMuchimi
The average rate of change of a function f(x) in an interval, a < x < b is given by
\frac{f(b) - f(a)}{b - a}

Given q(x) = (x + 3)^2

1.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -6 ≤ x ≤ -4 is given by \frac{q(-4)-q(-6)}{-4-(-6)} = \frac{(-4+3)^2-(-6+3)^2}{-4+6} = \frac{1-9}{2} = \frac{-8}{2} =-4

2.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -3 ≤ x ≤ 0 is given by \frac{q(0)-q(-3)}{0-(-3)} = \frac{(0+3)^2-(-3+3)^2}{0+3} = \frac{9-0}{3} = \frac{9}{3} =3

3.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -6 ≤ x ≤ -3 is given by \frac{q(-3)-q(-6)}{-3-(-6)} = \frac{(-3+3)^2-(-6+3)^2}{-3+6} = \frac{0-9}{3} = \frac{-9}{3} =-3

4.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -3 ≤ x ≤ -2 is given by \frac{q(-2)-q(-3)}{-2-(-3)} = \frac{(-2+3)^2-(-3+3)^2}{-2+3} = \frac{1-0}{1} = \frac{1}{1} =1

5.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -4 ≤ x ≤ -3 is given by \frac{q(-3)-q(-4)}{-3-(-4)} = \frac{(-3+3)^2-(-4+3)^2}{-3+4} = \frac{0-1}{1} = \frac{-1}{1} =-1

6.) The average rate of change of q(x) in the interval -6 ≤ x ≤ 0 is given by \frac{q(0)-q(-6)}{0-(-6)} = \frac{(0+3)^2-(-6+3)^2}{0+6} = \frac{9-9}{6} = \frac{0}{6} =0

The perimeter of a rectangular garage is 44 meters. the garage is 12 meters long. how wide is it?
wel
Hello!

To find the perimeter you do 2l + 2w.

l is length
w is width

put in the values we know

2(12) + 2w = 44

Combine like terms

24 + 2w = 44

Subtract 24 from both sides

2w = 20

Divide both sides by 2

w = 10

The answer is 10 meters

Hope this helps!

Step-by-step explanation:

1) \text{ } x^{2}-6x+2=0\\\\2) \text{ } x^{2}-6x=-2\\\\3) \text{ } x^{2}-6x+\left(\frac{-6}{2} \right)^{2}=-2+\left(\frac{-6}{2} \right)^{2}=7\\\\4) \text{ } (x-3)^{2}=7\\\\5) \text{ } x-3 =\pm \sqrt{7} \longrightarrow \boxed{3 \pm \sqrt{7}}
