OK, let's try with no figure.  We have an isosceles triangle sides s,s, and b.

Opposite b is angle t.

Draw the altitude h to bisect t.  We have two right triangles, legs b/2 and h, hypotenuse s.  The angle opposite b/2 is t/2 so

sin(t/2) = (b/2)/s = b/2s

So we arrived at the first part,

b = 2s sin(t/2)

The area of a triangle with sides s,s and included angle t is

A = (1/2) s² sin t

A rectangle has an area of 45 square inches. The height of the rectangle is 9 inches.
Oliga [24]

Answer:

5in

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for area is A=bh or Area = Base × Height

or you can write it as A=wh which is Width × Height

so plug in the numbers you already know

(do not worry about units right now)

45=b(9)

Now you have to get the variable b by itself

divide both sides by 9 to get b by itself

45(÷9)=b(9)(÷9)

the 9 next to the b gets canceled out

45÷9= 5

The answer is 5 inches

Always remember that the actual area's units are squared while the base and height are just the unit not squared

45in²=area

5in and 9in= base and height

Write an expression equivalent to 6(x + y) + 11 – 5, and state which property you used to write it.
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

6x + 6y + 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression equivalent to

6(x + y) + 11 – 5

= 6x + 6y + 6

I used distributive property to rewrite this expression and distributive law is  multiplying the number outside of the parenthesis with every each number or variable inside.

Hope it will find you well.

Create a linear equation in slope intercept form that contains the points (1,4) and (4,7).
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

y = x + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Calculate m using the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (1, 4) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (4, 7)

m = \frac{7-4}{4-1} = \frac{3}{3} = 1, hence

y = x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation.

Using (1, 4), then

4 = 1 + c ⇒ c = 4 - 1 = 3

y = x + 3 ← equation in slope- intercept form
