Answer:

6 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

So, the area he needs to fill isn't really important, you don't need to calculate it. What is necessary is the individual dimensions of that area (width/length). The width and the length must be divisible by the lengths of the tiles. This is so you don't need to cut anything. For example let's say the area needed to be filled was 15 mm (width) by 10 mm (length). If I chose 3mm square tiles, it could perfectly fill up the width, but when it came to the length there would be a small 1 mm gap. And you would need to cut one of the square tiles, so it would have a length of 1 mm. In this case the 15mm was divisible by 3, but the 10 mm wasn't. So using this logic, it can't be the 4 mm square tile since 150mm / 4 mm = 37.5. It can be the 6m since 150mm / 6mm = 25 and 180 mm / 6mm = 30. It can't be the 8 mm since 150 mm / 8mm = 18.75 mm

Ok let us assume x= the width of the table top
the length is 4 times the width meaning we are multiplying 4 and the width
which is x
length = 4x
your first equation would be the following:
4x+4x+x+x= whatever the perimeter is
if you drew a rectangle it would help you understand the above.

this represents the perimeter of the tabletop because we know the width is x. if you drew the rectangle there wouldn't be 1 width. opposite to the width is another line. same with the length. the length is 4x again there are 2 because in a rectangle there are 2 sets of parallel lines. that is why your equation would be 4x+4x+x+x= whatever the perimeter is- you could simplify this equation and write:
10x= whatever the perimeter is
x basically means 1x but in math we generally don't write that because we tend to write most things in simplest for.
hope this helps :)

What is 65% of 60??? PLZZZZZZZZZZ HELP thanks! :)
a_sh-v [17]
All we have to do is multiply them by each other accept we change the percent into a decimal.
65% = 0.65
soooo
0.65 x 65 = 42.25

Time to paint the living room. The room measures 20 feet wide by 30 feet long by 12
chubhunter [2.5K]

The cost to paint the walls and the ceiling is $855

<h3></h3><h3>How much will it cost?</h3>

First, we need to find the area that will be painted.

The area of two of the walls is:

A = 20ft*12ft = 240ft²

The area of the other two walls:

A' = 30ft*12ft = 360ft²

The area of the ceiling is:

A'' = 20ft*30ft = 600ft²

We also need to subtract the areas of the two doors and the 4 windows.

Each door is 7ft by 3ft, so the area of each door is:

a = 7ft*3ft = 21ft²

Each window is 4ft by 3ft:

a' = 4ft*3ft = 12ft²

Then the total area that will be painted is:

area = 2A + 2A' + A - 2a - 4a'

area = 2*( 240ft²) + 2*(360ft²) + 600ft² - 2*(21ft²) - 4*(12ft²)

area = 1,710 ft²

We know that we need two coats of paint to cover that area, and the cost per square foot of paint is $0.25, then the total cost is:

C = $0.25*2*(1,710) = $855

The cost to paint the walls and the ceiling is $855

The monthly cost (in dollars) of a long-distance phone plan is a linear function of the total calling time (in minutes). The mon
kkurt [141]

The monthly cost will be $17.14

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the monthly cost (in dollars) of a long-distance phone plan is a linear function of the total calling time (in minutes) then this can be presented in a table form as;

<u>Time in minutes (x)</u>        <u>Cost in dollars (y)</u>

50                                          $12.55

102                                         $ 17.23

Take the values as ordered pairs to represent coordinates for points that satisfy the linear function

(50,12.55)  and (102,17.23)

Finding the slope of the graph using these points

slope,m=Δy/Δx

m=Δy=17.23-12.55 =4.68

Δx=102-50=52

m=4.68/52 =0.09

Finding the equation of the linear function using m=0.09, and point (50,12.55)

m=Δy/Δx

0.09=y-12.55/x-50

0.09(x-50)=y-12.55

0.09x-4.5=y-12.55

0.09x-4.5+12.55=y

y=0.09x+8.05

So for 101 minutes , the cost will be;

y=0.09*101 +8.05

y=9.09+8.05 = $17.14
