The constant turnover of body tissues requires the chemical energy supplied by carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids.

What is Chemical energy?

 • The bonds of chemical molecules contain energy.
 • Exothermic reactions are those in which chemical energy is released during the reaction, frequently in the form of heat.
 • Some of the heat energy needed for a reaction to continue can be stored as chemical energy in newly created bonds.
 • The body transforms the chemical energy in food into heat and mechanical energy.
 • At a power plant, coal's chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy. Through the process of electrolysis, the chemical energy in a battery can also generate electricity.

Eddi Din [679]
The rough endoplasmic reticulum also known as RER is covered in ribosomes and helps produce most of the proteins. Smooth endoplasmic reticulum also known as SER does not have these ribosomes, and it is almost solely for producing lipids.

How are the functions of organelles in animal cells and those in plant cells similar and different?
zalisa [80]

Answer:

Organelles are the membrane bounded structures within a cell and they perform specific functions required for the metabolic functioning. In plant and animal cells, some of the organelles share similar functions, however, some of them are unique to each type fo cell. Here are two main examples:

 • Plant cells contain chloroplasts to perform photosynthesis, but animal cells do not have chloroplast or similar strctures.
 • Plant cells have one large central vacuole, but animal cells either have a scatter of small vacuoles or none.

Further, the plant cells are surrounded with the cell wall and cell membrane whereas in the animal cells, only cell membrane is present.
