The skin regulates body temperature by perspiration or by using the arrector mucle that holds the hairs on skin. During a hot day, the skin perspires....it gives out water along with sebum and other salts and substances which cools the body. The arrector muscles loosen the hair due to which the hairs are not erect. During a cold day, the arrector muscles forcibly erect the small hairs on the skin which trap the heat of our body and provide insulation. In this way, it regulates temperature.
The answer is A, the tendency of a cell to maintain a stable internal environment.
One of the example of homeostasis in human is the control of blood glucose level. If there's too much glucose in our blood, our body release a hormone called insulin to lower the glucose level, to maintain a stable level. On the other hand, if our blood glucose level is too low, another hormone called glucagon is released to raise the glucose level in our blood.
Homeostasis does not only happen to humans, but also to other animals and plants too.
The main difference between the Rough Endoplasmatic Reticulum (RER) and the Smooth Endoplasmatic Reticulum (SER) is that the RER has attached to its surface ribosomes. This changes its appearence.
The RER and SER also differ in their function. Whereas the SER is involved in the synthesis and storage of lipids that are used in the generation of the cell membrane (includes cholesterol and phospholipids), the RER participates in the synthesis of enzymes and proteins.
