Suppose that a probability is approximated to be zero based on empirical results, this does not mean that the event is impossible.

What is probability?

The likelihood that an event will occur is defined by probability. There are many instances in real life where we may need to make predictions about how something will turn out. The outcome of an event may be known to us or unknown to us.

By simply dividing the favorable number of possibilities by the entire number of possible outcomes, the probability of an occurrence can be determined using the probability formula. Because the favorable number of outcomes can never exceed the entire number of outcomes, the chance of an event occurring might range from 0 to 1.

The product of a positive number and 14 more than seven times the number is 105. Find the two numbers. first number =______ and
Nostrana [21]
Let the positive number be x

The expression is
x(14+7x)=105⇒ expanding the bracket gives,
14x+7 x^{2} =105 ⇒ rearranging to equate one side to zero
7x^{2} +14x-105=0 ⇒ Dividing each term by 7 to simplify
x^{2} +2x-15 ⇒ Factorising gives
(x+5)(x-3)=0
x=-5 and x=3

Hence, the first number is -5 and the second number is 3
