A virus called a retrovirus is a specific kind of pathogen that is HIV.

What is a retrovirus in simple terms?

A type of virus that contains RNA instead of DNA as a genetic substance. It uses an enzyme called reverse transcriptase to become part of the host cell's DNA.

In addition to the AIDS-causing virus, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), there are two retroviruses that can cause illness in humans. One is called human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) and the other is called human T-lymphotropic virus type 2.

Think back to the example of the nurse who told the individual about the HIV status of someone she helped. Was the nurse right o
vagabundo [1.1K]

I think that was right of the Nurse to do so because the person in the accident was exposed to someone whose blood was HIV positive, and so now they might have it too.

I would have consulted with the patient about if it was okay to let the other person know that they could now be infected with HIV and if the HIV positive patient said it was fine I would go back and tell the other patient.

hope that helps :)
