The synthetic division of the polynomial, (2x⁴ + 4x³ + 2x² + 8x + 8) / (x + 2) =  2x³ + 2x + 4.

Division of the polynomial

The division of the polynomial is determined as follows;

(2x⁴ + 4x³ + 2x² + 8x + 8) / (x + 2)

                     2x³ + 2x + 4

                   -------------------------

     x + 2   √(2x⁴ + 4x³ + 2x² + 8x + 8)

                - (2x⁴ + 4x³)

                 -------------------------------------

                                        2x² + 8x + 8

                                     - (2x² + 4x)

                                   ------------------------

                                                  4x + 8

                                               - (4x + 8)

                                              -------------------

                                                       0

Thus, the synthetic division of the polynomial, (2x⁴ + 4x³ + 2x² + 8x + 8) / (x + 2) =  2x³ + 2x + 4.

How can you solve an equation with the variable on both sides plz help
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
I don't know if this is the right one but i hope this helps. this is how i learned it.
step 1=get variables on one side oof the equal sign by using inverse operation (add or subtract smaller variable)
step 2= get constants away from variable to the other side of the equal sign by using inverse operations (add or subtract constant)
step 3: isolate the variable using inverse operation (multiply or divide)

There are two calculus classes at your school classes have a class average of 75.5 the first class as a standard deviation of 10
DENIUS [597]
To compare the two classes, the Coefficient of Variation (COV) can be used.

The formula for COV is this:
C = s / x

where s is the standard deviation and x is the mean

For the first class:
C1 = 10.2 / 75.5
C1 = 0.1351 (13.51%)

For the second class:
C2 = 22.5 / 75.5
C2 = 0.2980 (29.80%)

The COV is a test of homogeneity. Looking at the values, the first class has more students having a grade closer to the average than the second class.
