The exponential equation that matches the coordinate is 3(2)^x while the linear equation is y = 6x

Exponential equation

The standard exponential equation is expressed as y= ab^x

where

a is the base

x is the exponent

Given the coordinates (2, 12) and (4, 48)

12 = ab^2

48 = ab^4

Find the ratio

4 = b^2

b = 2

Sice ab^2 = 12

4a = 12

a = 3

The exponential equation that matches the coordinate is 3(2)^x

For the linear equation

The standard form is y = mx + b

m is the slope = 48-12/4-2
Slope = 12/2

Slope = 6

For the y-intercept

12 = 6(2) + b

b = 0

Hence the required linear equation is. y = 6x

Answer:

None

Step-by-step explanation:

The center of the ellipse is at (2, 4)

The length of the x axis is a= (8-2) =6

The length of the y axis is b=(16-4) = 12

The formula for an ellipse is

(x-h) ^2       (y-k)^2

----------- + -------------- = 1^2

a^2              b^2

where (h,k) is the center

and a and b are the lengths of the major and minor axes

(x-2) ^2       (y-4)^2

----------- + -------------- = 1

6^2              12^2

none of your choices have b>a and for the ellipse to be vertical b>a

let length of the rectangle be l

length is 6 cm longer than the width, w

l = w + 6

perimeter of rectangle is 72 cm

= 2l + 2w

substitute l = w + 6

2(w+6) + 2w = 72

4w + 12 = 72

4w = 60

x = 15

ans is C. 15 cm
