The look of an area after continuous erosion without interruption, completely depends on the area itself. Earthen materials are worn away during erosion, a geological process in which they are moved by wind or water.

If the erosion continues in area near a river, after millions of years the area will be covered with water. No more land as the river will gulp the land and the terrestrial ecosystem will change into marine ecosystem.

If the erosion continues in the area near a mountain or hill without interruption, then after a few years it will be transformed into plateau or plain land. There will be no highland after a few million years. People will start settling there and start cultivating in the plains.

The correct answer is c. collective selection.
Herbert Blumer was an American sociologist and a theorist on collective behaviour. A very important part of his work focused on the sociological analysis of fashion. He proposed that the fashion process happens through collective selection and that this process is affected by three factors. Two important factors are modernity and the gradual development and refinement of collective preferences. Finally, collective selection is affected by the fact that fashion changes in a historically continuous manner.
