Using relations in a right triangle, it is found that the distance the box has to travel to move from point A to point C is of 15.1 feet.

What are the relations in a right triangle?

The relations in a right triangle are given as follows:

 • The sine of an angle is given by the length of the opposite side to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse.
 • The cosine of an angle is given by the length of the adjacent side to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse.
 • The tangent of an angle is given by the length of the opposite side to the angle divided by the length of the adjacent side to the angle.

In this problem, we have that the side of length 14 ft is opposite to the angle of 68º, while we want to find the hypotenuse which is the distance, hence:

sin(68º) = 14/h

h = 14/sin(68º)

h = 15.1

1 quart= 4 cups
1 gallon= 1 quart

1 recipe= 1 quart
Tripled recipe= 3 * 1 quart= 3 quarts

Tripled recipe= 3 quarts * 4 cups per quart= 12 cups used in triple recipe

1 gallon= 16 cups

16 cups - 12 cups used= 4 cups left
