Which statement of theme best fits "The Terrible Old Man?"

English
1 answer:
n200080 [17]2 years ago
6 0

The sentence that best fits is "Things aren't always what they seem" (option d).

What does the phrase mean?

The phrase means that we should not be guided by how things look because they can look like one thing and be something else entirely. According to the above, we can see a person who appears to be very nice and is actually very mean.

How are the two sentences related?

These two sentences are related because an old person is supposed to be a kind and friendly person, generally old people are vulnerable because of their age. However, some old people can be terrible for their negative actions.

According to the above, we can infer that both refer to the fact that something can be pretended but that the attitude is not in accordance with the appearance of the individual.

Which setting is more Science fiction and why?
Oliga [24]

Answer:

A Sound of Thunder!

Explanation:

I agree with this answer because its a bit more believeable than the second story, at least in my opinion. The difference between science fiction and all-out fiction is that science fiction has at least a semblance of basis in science! It may not be science we have or understand now but its a genuinely possible event given our knowledge of the universe!

There is no subtle character name or names in the book pilgrim’s progress but it is John Bunyan the writer considers himself as the “Evangelist” character probably because he is referring to his favorite gospel writer “John the Evangelist”. According to Bunyan he himself is a preacher since an Evangelist also seems to stand as the example of a good teacher.

Write a letter to your pen friend describing the festival that you enjoyed most
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

My dear Viktor,

In your previous letter you asked me to describe one of our festivals. Dear friend, Diwali is our most sacred and colourful festival. It is a festival of lights. It is celebrated at the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the winter season. It is celebrated all over India in honour of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after a long exile in the forest.

Great preparations are made many days before the festival. The houses and shops are painted, well cleaned and gaily decorated. In every house sweets are prepared or purchased from the market. Sweets are exchanged among friends and relatives.

The day itself is marked with great rejoicing and merry making. At night, Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is worshipped in every Hindu home and everybody prays for health and wealth. Some people illuminate their houses with multicoloured electric bulbs. The children specially enjoy this festival. They get toys, sweets and delicious dishes to eat. They explode crackers and indulge in fun and frolic. There is nothing to equal it in any religion or country.

Yours Sincerely,
