The U.S Civil War started because the North wanted to abolish slavery. The South wanted to keep slavery. The Civil War started b

ecause the South didn't want to have slavery abolished. It didn't work out so well for the South because the North won and took over the South land.That is how the U.S Civil War started.

There is a slight bias on the part of the author as he seems to side with the South in keeping slavery with the use of the words, "it did not work out so well for the South..."
