A personality trait defined as "any purposive activity that entails novelty or danger sufficient to create anxiety in most people" is called risk taking.

Some psychologists have suggested that risk taking is linked to neuroticism which is a personality trait. They see it as an expression of neurotic conflict.

Humans are a risk-taking species. Genes play yet another role in risk-taking. They influence two other personality traits which are associated with general risk-taking, they include, the traits of aggression, or its agreeableness, obverse, and for sociability.

The greatest risk-takers are young males who are in their adolescent years. This is a reflected fact in their high rates of auto accidents, binge drinking, gambling and drug use.

Hence, a personality trait which creates anxiety in most people is called risk taking.

Suppose you examined a pedigree of a large family, going back 6 generations. In generation 5, a woman ("G5W") has a serious gene
miv72 [106K]

Explanation:

There is found a mutation in G5W parents during the gamete formation created X-linked dominant disease allele. As the expression of the allele determines the allele that dominant or recessive. Because sometimes the allele becomes complete even then it is incomplete. In many cases, these alleles occur together or express at the same time that is called co dominance. The X-linked inheritance works differently with male and female because the male has XY chromosome and female has only XX chromosome. So a man has chances their son 50% but daughter has more or 99% chances to be inherited by the disease. Females only pass their X chromosome to each son or daughter so the chances from a female dominant inheritance 50% chances of X-linked disease.

Compare and contrast the three most common research methods. Which approach would you select in an attempt to better understand
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

Naturalistic observation, interviews, and case studies

Explanation:

Three of the most common research methods are naturalistic observation, interviews, and case studies. Each one of them brings something different to the table:

 • Naturalistic observation refers to studying subjects directly on their environment without any intervention from the researcher. This is a great method because watching people behave in a natural way will be very revealing and more truthful. When subjects know they are being observed, they often change their behaviour. Naturalistic observation thus requires the observer to be as anonymous and invisible as possible.
 • An interview is a research method where the subject is asked to answer to some specific questions crafted by the researcher. Interviews allow the researchers have a much closer look at the subject, trying to ascertain the motives behind their behaviour. However, a problem with interviews is that the subjects often time won't respond truthfully, but will adjust their answers to what is expected from them.
 • A case study is a method that goes more in depth than the other two, and the researcher tries to learn as much as possible about the subject through a variety of other methods, like observations, interviews, surveys, etc. Case studies are much thorough and deeper investigations, but they can be very time consuming, and require a subject that is willing to facilitate the work of the researcher, which isn't always possible.
