Darwin lived in a time where natural selection was a strange theory among scientists and researchers. This was especially true when other researcher Lamarck argued that organisms passed on helpful traits to their offspring, that they magically could form a new trait to adapt to their environment and then pass it onto their offspring. For example, if a giraffe was too short to reach food, it would grow a larger neck in its lifetime and then pass that trait onto its offspring. Darwin argued that, through the process of survival of the fittest, that short giraffe would die off and never receive the chance to pass on its shortness to future populations. Thus, taller giraffes would survive— they can reach food, shorter giraffes can’t— and the short genes would disappear. The fact that Darwin was introducing a new theory that nobody was used to at the time was peculiar, so he had few people on his side until long after his observations.
Another problem Darwin had was the lack of technology. To travel, Darwin would have to use boats to reach far away places, and of course, this took time.
The final problem Darwin had was the extra time it took for evolution, a process that can take up to millions of years. Evolution didn’t occur over night— it took time for Darwin to conduct experiments, observe, conduct them again, come to a conclusion, and so on.

Anabolism is a metabolic process that consists of the construction and manufacture of more complex molecules from simpler molecules. This contributes to cell growth and energy storage for tissue maintenance.

The process of anabolism can be seen in processes such as the formation of triglycerides or glycogen for energy reserves within cells or in the formation of muscle proteins, given in the sports world.

In these anabolic processes, a lot of energy is consumed since much more complex molecules are being manufactured.

It is a totally opposite and complementary process to catabolism, in which these complex molecules are broken down into much simpler molecules and the release of energy is generated.

For a correct homeostasis of the body, these two processes have to be balanced and work in a <u>complementary way.</u>

During sexual reproduction, meiosis generates a genetic variation in the offspring because it randomly shuffles genes across chromosomes and then randomly segregates half of those chromosomes into each gametes. These two gametes or sex cells then fuse randomly to form a new organism. One of the key factors in evolutionary fitness and biological diversity is genetic variation. This can be made possible through reproductive cells undergoing meiosis since such process has specialized sex cells split and multiple after copulation.

To answer the question if is it possible for a human to survive without a reproductive system, the answer is yes.

Reproductive organs of both men and women are vital to create a child. But it must be noted that both can live without them. There are situations that sometimes necessitates the removal of such organs especially if he or she is inflicted with cancer or other diseases.
