Point (1,5) is a solution of the equation g(x)=3x+2 and point (1,5) is not a solution of equation f(x)=|x-1|+1

Why point (1,5)<em> </em>is solution of the equation<em> </em>g(x)=3x+2 ?

If point (1,5) is solution of the equation then they must satisfy the equation.

So we need to check one by one

(x,y)=(1,5)

equation g(x)=3x+2

We can write as

y=3x+2\\5=3*1+2\\5=5

So  point (1,5) is solution of this equation.

Equation f(x)=|x-1|+1

We can write as

y=|x-1|+1\\5=|1-1|+1\\5=0+1\\5\neq 1

So point (1,5) is not solution of equation f(x)=|x-1|+1
