Noah has a summer tree-trimming business. Based on experience, Noah knows that his profit, P, in dollars, can be modelled by = −

3x^2 + 150 − 1200, where x is the amount he charges per tree.
1. How much does he need to charge if he wants to break even?
2. How much does he need to charge if he wants to make a profit of $600?

He need to charge 24$ per tree if he wants to make a profit of $600.

According to statement

Noah knows that his profit, P, in dollars, are P= −3x^2 + 150 − 1200.

Now, we find the value of x when the profit is $600

Where X represent the Amount he charges per tree.

The given equation is P= −3x^2 + 150 − 1200.

Substitute the value of p is $600 in the above written equation

Then

600 = −3x^2 + 150 − 1200.

After solving the equation by a substitution method the value of X becomes

600+1200-150 = -3(x)^2

x = (1650/3)^1/2

x= 24$

it means the charge per tree is 24$.

So, He need to charge 24$ per tree if he wants to make a profit of $600.

How do i solve thissss (mainly the question on the bottom)
Ymorist [56]

a)

well done

b)

well, a function for a relationship means, the x-coordinates must not repeat in a set, namely that for every "y" there must be a unique "x" coordinate, no X-REPEATS.

so for example in a relation that say is { (3, 4) , (5, 4) , (7, 4) , (10, 11) }, we do have y-coordinates repeated, but for a function that doesn't matter, our x-coordinates are not repeated thus, it's a function.

in this case, let's see the relationship set, just a few points { (3,5) , (3,6) , (3,8) , (6,10)}, well darn, we have 3 repeated three times in the x-coordinate slots, therefore is not a function, just a relation.

What is the opposite of 17
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

-17

Step-by-step explanation:

"the opposite of 17 is -17. You can figure this out by finding the negative version of 17, or the additive inverse of 17. Opposites, when added together, create a sum of 0."
