Calculate the area of a rectangular field with perimeter 88 cm and length 18 cm

The area of the rectangular field is 468cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

If, length is 18cm; width is unknown( let x represent width). Then,

<u>Perimeter of a rectangle</u>= Length + Width+ Length + Width

88= 18 + x + 18 + x

88= 36 + 2x

88-36 =2x

52= 2x

52/2=2x/2

26=x

•x=26cm

<em>The</em><em> </em><em>width</em><em> </em><em>of</em><em> </em><em>the</em><em> </em><em>rectangle</em><em> </em><em>is</em><em> </em><em>2</em><em>6</em><em>c</em><em>m</em><em>.</em>

<u>Area of a rectangle</u>= Length × Width

=18cm×26cm

= 468cm².

Let X be the number of accidents per week at the Hillsborough Street roundabout by the NCSU Bell Tower. Assume X varies with mea
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

1) 0.1587 = 15.15% probability that x is less than 2

2) 7.64% probability that there are fewer than 100 accidents at the roundabout in a year

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, we need to understand the normal probability distribution and the Central limit theorem.

Normal probability distribution

Problems of normally distributed samples are solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Central Limit Theorem

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a normally distributed random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the sampling distribution of the sample means with size n can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

For a skewed variable, the Central Limit Theorem can also be applied, as long as n is at least 30.

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 2.2, \sigma = 1.4

1)

Here we have \mu = 2.2, s = \frac{1.4}{\sqrt{52}} = 0.194

What is the probability that x is less than 2?

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 2.

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

By the Central Limit Theorem

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{2 - 2.2}{0.194}

Z = -1.03

Z = -1.03 has a pvalue of 0.1515

0.1587 = 15.15% probability that x is less than 2

2)

100/52 = 1.9231

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 1.9231

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{1.9231 - 2.2}{0.194}

Z = -1.43

Z = -1.43 has a pvalue of 0.0764

7.64% probability that there are fewer than 100 accidents at the roundabout in a year

Which equation is the inverse of y = 100 - x??
denis-greek [22]

For this case we must find the inverse of the following function:

y = 100-x

To do this, we follow the steps below:

We exchange the variables:

x = 100-y

We clear the variable "x" (the variable is already cleared):

x = 100-y

We change "x" to "y":

y = 100-x

We change y for f^{-1}(x):

f^{-1} (x) = 100-x

ANswer:

f^{-1} (x) = 100-x

Segment AB is the diameter of circle M. The coordinates of A are (1,6). The coordinates of M are (-3, 8). What are the coordinat
gregori [183]

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the midpoint formula be expressed as;

M(X,Y) = {x2+x1/2, y2+y1/2}

X = x2+x1/2

Y = y2+y1/2

Get x2

-3 = x2 + 1/2

-6 = x2 + 1

x2 = -6-1

x2 = -7

Get y2;

Y = y2+y1/2

8 = y2+6/2

16 = y2+6

Y2 = 16-6

y2 = 10

hence the coordinate of B is (-7, 10). Option A is correct
