Petition GRANTED. Judgment VACATED and case REMANDED for further consideration in light of New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen, 597 U. S. on June 30, (2022).

What does it mean when the Supreme court vacates and remands a case?

The Supreme Court of the United States may grant a petition for certiorari, reverse a lower court's ruling, and remand the matter for additional proceedings in a grant, vacate, and remand order (GVR order) (hence the acronym by which they are known). Petition GRANTED. Judgment VACATED and case REMANDED for further consideration in light of New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen, 597 U. S. on June 30, (2022).

 • The Supreme Court simply sends the case back to the lower court to be reconsidered in light of the new law or the new precedent, which is usually appropriate when there has been a change in the legal circumstances since the lower court's or agency's decision, such as a change in the law, a precedential ruling, or a confession of error. Because GVR orders are intended to be quick and simple, they do not fully explain the law and do not set any precedents. Long opinions are typically not used to explain GVR orders.

In medieval times, corporal punishment and capital punishment were used to control which economic group?
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

Criminally poor.

Explanation:

In medieval times, the power and ability to exercise rights of each person was directly proportional to their wealth: the greater the wealth, the greater the power that this person had regarding their rights, and their ability to act within (and outside) of the law was expanded. On the contrary, low-income people had fewer possibilities of this type, with which their actions were constantly being evaluated by governments.

In this context, in case of crimes, the penalties were much harsher depending on whether they were rich people or poor people. The latter, if convicted, could be tortured or even sentenced to death; penalties that were not applied to people with greater purchasing power.
