The preferred choice would be a line graph (drawn in the figure attached) for displaying the data.

Why a line graph is the preferred option here?

  • For displaying the data of David's family's grocery bills for the past 10 weeks, a line graph is the most preferable choice since it would display the data's trend for us. This is similar to how we would notice times when there were huge costs.
  • Another reason for choosing a line graph is that it is very easy to comprehend. It is simple to observe how the data are related and how they have changed.

What is a line graph?

An individual data point is connected by a line in a line graph, sometimes referred to as a line plot or a line chart. A line graph shows numerical values over a predetermined period of time.

How far apart are the foci of an ellipse with a major axis of 34 feet and a minor axis of 16 feet?
My name is Ann [436]

The foci of an ellipse are (c,0) & (-c,0)

Where c² = a² - b²

The major axis is 34 feet

So 2a = 34

Dividing by 2 on both sides

a = 17

Also minor axis is 16 feet

So 2b = 16

Dividing by 2 on both sides

b = 8

Now we know

c² = a² - b²

c² = 17² - 8² = 289 - 64 = 225

Taking square root on both sides

c = 15 feet

Now the two foci are (15,0) & (-15,0)

Distance between these points is 15 - (-15) = 15 + 15 = 30

The distance between the two foci is 30 feet.

HELP PLEASE?? picture included to understand the question
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

$77, 456

Step-by-step explanation:

Let P(x) = profit

   P(x) = revenue - cost

⇒ P(x) = (952x - 0.68x²) - (-153x + 371450)

⇒ P(x) = -0.68x² + 1105x - 371450

Differentiate P(x)

⇒ P'(x) = -1.36x + 1105

Set P'(x) = 0 and solve for x:

⇒ -1.36x + 1105 = 0

⇒ 1.36x = 1105

⇒ x = 812.5

Therefore, maximum profit when x = 812.5

Substitute x = 812.5 into P(x):

P(812.5) = -0.68(812.5)²+ 1105(812.5) - 371450 = 77456.25
