A "cross section" is basically the two-dimensional face that you get when you cut a three-dimensional figure a certain way.  For example, imagine you're buttering your bread.  When you cut a pat of butter off, what shape is left on the butter?  A square!

So, imagine cutting a ball in half.  What shape is left?  A circle!

Answer: circle

The answer would be a circle.imagine a watermelon right,cutting it in half, you would see a circle that forms inside of the watermelon

Compute the standard deviation of the following set of data to the nearest whole number:
Klio2033 [76]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard deviation is the square root of the variance, and the variance is found by using the mean. So we will do that first. I will use the population variance as opposed to the sample variance since our set of numbers is small.

The mean: 8 + 12 + 15 + 17 + 18 = 70 and divide that by 5 to get

\bar{x}=14 and use this to find the variance in the formula:

s^2=\frac{\sum(x_i-\bar{x})^2}{n} it is a bit difficult to enter that formula in correctly, but here's how it works mathematically:

s^2=\frac{(8-14)^2+(12-14)^2+(15-14)^2+(17-14)^2+(18-14)^2}{5}

Squaring this ensures us that we don't end up with zero, which would be useless.

s^2=\frac{36+4+1+9+16}{5} so

s^2=13.2 which means that the standard deviation is

s = 3.633

(If you do it with n-1 = 4 in the denominator of the variance, you get a standard deviation of 4.062)

Consider the following hypothesis test. H0: μ ≥ 55 Ha: μ < 55 A sample of 36 is used. Identify the p-value and state your con
Ket [755]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

H_o: \mu \ge 55 \ \\ \\ H_1 : \mu < 55

(a) For x = 54 and s = 5.3

The test statistics can be computed as:

Z = \dfrac{\overline x - \mu}{\dfrac{s}{\sqrt{n}} }

Z = \dfrac{54-55}{\dfrac{5.3}{\sqrt{36}} }

Z = \dfrac{-1}{\dfrac{5.3}{6} }

Z = -1.132

degree of freedom = n - 1

= 36 - 1

= 35

Using the Excel Formula:

P-Value = T.DIST(-1.132,35,1) = 0.1326

Decision: p-value is greater than significance level; do not reject \mathbf{H_o}

Conclusion: \  There  \ is \  insufficient \  evidence  \  to \  conclude \  that \ \mu < 55

b

For x = 53 and s = 4.6

The test statistics can be computed as:

Z = \dfrac{\overline x - \mu}{\dfrac{s}{\sqrt{n}} }

Z = \dfrac{53-55}{\dfrac{4.6}{\sqrt{36}} }

Z = \dfrac{-2}{\dfrac{4.6}{6} }

Z = -2.6087

degree of freedom = n - 1

= 36 - 1

= 35

Using the Excel Formula:

P-Value = T.DIST(-2.6087,35,1) =0.0066

Decision: p-value is < significance level; we reject the null hypothesis.

Conclusion: \  There  \ is \  sufficient \  evidence  \  to \  conclude \  that \mu < 55

c)

For x = 56 and s = 5.0

The test statistics can be computed as:

Z = \dfrac{\overline x - \mu}{\dfrac{s}{\sqrt{n}} }

Z = \dfrac{56-55}{\dfrac{5.0}{\sqrt{36}} }

Z = \dfrac{56-55}{\dfrac{5.0}{\sqrt{36}} }

Z = 1.2

degree of freedom = n - 1

= 36 - 1

= 35

Using the Excel Formula:

P-Value = T.DIST(1.2,35,1) = 0.88009

Decision: p-value is greater than significance level; do not reject \mathbf{H_o}

Conclusion: \  There  \ is \  insufficient \  evidence  \  to \  conclude \  that \ \mu < 55

Lisa and Marie are both on the track team. During practice, Lisa ran 10 laps around
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

Marie ran at a faster rate. It takes 27 minutes for Lisa to run 15 laps while it takes Marie 26.25 minutes to run 15 laps.

Step-by-step explanation:

18 ÷ 10 = 1.8 (Lisa's rate)

14 ÷ 8 = 1.75 (Marie's rate)

1.8 x 15 = 27 minutes (How long it takes for Lisa to run 15 laps)

1.75 x 15 = 26.25 (How long it takes for Marie to run 15 laps)

Find the value of the trigonometric ratio. Simplify the ratio of possible.(Hint:you may need to use pythagorean theorem first)
sergey [27]
Your answer will be 17/15

Firstly you should use Pythagorean’s theorem like this
H²=p²+b²
Where p is bc
And b is ac
Then keep the value and solve it and you will get h as 17
At last keep cosA = b/ h
Hope it helps : )
