How and why did various land-based empires develop and expand from 1450 to 1750?

Increased use of gunpowder, cannons, and armed commerce led to the establishment of vast empires in Europe and Asia. Most of the subjugated tribes were unorganized or weak. The Manchu in Central East Asia, the Mughal in South and Central Asia, and the Ottoman in Southern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa were among these land-based empires. Politics, religion, and the military were all under the control of the same people. They also had control over commerce, which allowed the monarchs to build more powerful armies and cultural landmarks.

Through colonial expansion, several nations at this time extended their national borders. Important geographical discoveries were made during this time. Spain and Portugal established the first colonial empires. Various expeditions were funded by the governments of these nations in order to take advantage of newly developed territories' natural and mineral riches.

Other European nations will be in charge of colonial politics, with Britain at the top of the list. The Ottoman Empire, another sizable empire, grew during this time. Their empire's frontiers were larger as a result of the battles, largely at the expense of the Balkan nations.

Thank you,

Eddie

nlexa [21]
At this time colonies were viewed as a major factor in determining a nations power internationally and also an engine for economic growth in a mercantilist system. Therefore, arguments in favor of U.S. Imperialism would have been fueled by the power struggle with European nations to exert global influence and dominance. Another major factor that individuals would have argued for was that colonies would have provided new markets and sources for raw materials for the growing US economy. In the end the U.S. did not become a major imperial power which most likely served the nation's power and reputation in the long run.
