Answer: 3x + y = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Ley's put it into slope-intercept form (to graph easier)

3x + y = 0

y = - 3x + 0

(Since we were subtracting 3x from both sides -3x results

So now we have it in slope-intercept form.

The formula for the perpendicular line is negative reciprocal

The negative reciprocal of -1/3 is 3x, so we have the negative reciprocal slope

We will convert option three quickly before I graph

9x - 3y = 27

-3y = -9x + 27

y = 3x - 9

So we have the same slope, which is correct. But wrong y-intercept; it needs to be zero since the slope you gave has no y-intercept, so we assume 0.

This is one of the two tired triangles of trig you should memorize. An isosceles right triangle has its sides in ratio 1:1:\sqrt 2. That means the hypotenuse is the square root of two times either side.

u = \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2} = 2

Answer: C

If you didn't know you could write

v = \sqrt 2

v^2 + v^2 = u^2

u^2 = 2 + 2 = 4

u = 2

The graph below shows the prices of different numbers of swimsuits at a store: A graph is shown. The values on the x axis are 0,
Nastasia [14]

The given data can be tabulated as:

Number of swimsuits, s (x)          Price, p (y)

0                                                              0

2                                                              23

4                                                              46

6                                                              69

8                                                              92

10                                                           115

We can see that by looking alone, the value of price p is increasing at a constant rate of 23 therefore the equation relating s and p must be linear in the form of:

y = m x + b

or

p = m s + b

where m is the slope of the line and b is the y intercept

The slope m can be calculated using the formula below and any two data points:

m = (y2 – y1) / (x2 – x1)

m = (23 – 0) / (2 – 0)

m = 11.5

The value of b (y-intercept) is the value of y when x = 0, therefore b = 0

The whole equation then becomes:

p = 11.5 s

For the month of March in a certain city, 57% of the days are cloudy. Also in the month of March in the same city, 55% of th
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

P(F | C) = 0.96

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi!

This is a problem on conditional probability. Lets call:

C = { cloudy day }

F = { foggy day }

Then F ∩ C = { cloudy and foggy day }

You are asked for P(F | C), the probability of a day being foggy given it is cloudy. By definition:

P(F|C)=\frac{P(F\bigcap C)}{P(C)}

And the data you have is:

P(C) = 0.57\\P(F \bigcap C) =0.55

Then: P(F | C) = 0.96
