The correct answer is D) Ancient Mesopotamia thrived before the Classical Period. It is said the period of Ancient Mesopotamia was from 3100 BC until 539 BC. Nowadays, the area which would now cover Ancient Mesopotamia would be Iraq, Kuwait, a part of Syria and to a much smaller extent, a little part of Turkey and a little part of Iran. They used the Tigris-Euphrates River where they used irrigation and are widely known for their ziggurats, seen as a very sophisticated society and the birthplace of the Western world.
