In the example, molecules will move from the more concentrated side of the membrane to the other side until they reach equilibrium. Once in equilibrium, molecules will keep crossing the membrane, but concentrations will remain equilibrated.

What is diffusion?

Diffusion is a pathway for some small polar hydrophilic molecules that can freely move through momentary openings in the membrane that are formed as a result of lipids movements.

Simple diffusion depends on the substances' sizes and their concentration on each side of the membrane.

The membrane is selectively permeable because it only lets small substances move through it, with no protein mediating their passage.

A membrane's permeability depends on the size of the molecule, the bigger the molecule is, the less capacity to cross the membrane it has.

Diffusion is a very slow process and to be efficient requires short distances and pronounced concentration gradients. This is a passive transport process because the cell does not need any energy to make it happen.

An example of diffusion is osmosis where water is the transported molecule.

Diffusion is a process that occurs continuously. This means that even when the concentration of the molecule is equal on both sides of the membrane, molecules will still move from one side to the other. However, this movement will not break the equilibrium once it is reached.

In the exposed example, we can see there is a difference in concentration between both sides of the membrane.

What will happen here is that molecules will move from the more concentrated side of the membrane to the less concentrated one until they reach equilibrium. In other words, diffusion will occur until concentrations are equal at both sides of the membrane.

Once these molecules find equilibrium, they will keep moving, but keep the same equilibrated state.

Note: I did not find the options, so you should check them a select the correct one according to this framework.

Which gland secretes chemicals that exert subtle effects on the sexual behavior and physiology of other people
STatiana [176]

Answer:

The Apocine glands.

Explanation:

These glands secrete sex pheromones This is the chemical substances which exhibits subtle effects on the sexual behavior and physiology of other people.

They are located at the axilla, anogenital region, at the areola and the nipple etc,The breast is a modified apocrine gland. It contains the mammary gland which secrets the best milk. Thus it is an example of apocrine gland.Basically, pheromones are has a significant reproductive effect on the opposite organism concerned. It aids mating,

Their hormonal secretions is released through the plasma membrane by budding off from the extracellular membrane,
