Answer: The value of y is 34 and the correct option is B.

Explanation:

It is given that ABCD is a parallelogram.

From the given figure it is noticed that,

\angle DAB=76^{\circ}

\angle ABC=3y^{\circ}

According to the properties of parallelogram the consecutive angles of parallelogram are supplementary angles and their sum is 180 degree.

From the figure it is noticed that the angle DAB and angle ABC are consecutive angles of the parallelogram.

\angle DAB+\angle ABC=180^{\circ}

76+3y=180

3y=180-76

3y=102

y=34

Therefore the value of y is 34 and option B is correct.

In a parallelogram, consecutive angles are supplementary.

3y + 78 = 180

3y = 102

y = 34

The table below shows the probability distribution of student ages in a high school with 1500 students. What is the expected val
lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

15.31

Step-by-step explanation:

The expected value, E(X) is given by :

E(X) = Σx*p(x)

From the table above :

E(X) = (13 * 0.01) + (14 * 0.27) + (15 * 0.30) + (16 * 0.25) + (17 * 0.16) + (18 * 0.01)

E(X) = 15.31

A) Let's solve for x.  2x + 3y = 40

Step 1: Add -3y to both sides.

2x + 3y + -3y = 40 + -3y

2x = -3y + 40

Step 2: Divide both sides by 2.

\frac{2x}{2} = \frac{-3y + 40}{2}

x = \frac{-3}{2} y + 20

Answer : \frac{-3}{2} y + 20

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
B) Let's solve for x. 5x + 2y = 30
Step 1: Add -2y to both sides.
5x + 2y + -2y = 30 + -2y
5x = -2y + 30
Step 2: Divide both sides by 5.
\frac{5x}{5} = \frac{-2y + 30}{5}
x = \frac{-2}{5} y + 6
Answer : \frac{-2}{5} y + 6
