Most tears are produced by the tear glands located behind the upper eyelids. A film of tears is formed with these tears. This film empties into the nose by passing through the nasolacrimal duct regularly. The tear point is the entrance to this duct. It is a small opening present in the corner of the eye. The inner portion of each eyelid has a tear point. The function of these puncta is to collect tears that are produced by the lacrimal glands. The fluid then goes into the tear sac through the tear canaliculi. It then passes through the nasolacrimal duct to the nasal passage. When you have dry eye syndrome, there is some abnormality in the process by which tears are produced and proper tear production does not occur.

What is Point Occlusion Surgery?

Punctal occlusion surgery is one of the most innovative and advanced designs available in ophthalmology today. Point occlusion surgery is the most preferred treatment option for dry eyes. Dry eye disease is a common condition that is characterized by a variety of signs and symptoms. The goal of point occlusion surgery is to minimize the drainage of tears and keep them in the eye for longer periods so they can provide sufficient lubrication. Point occlusion surgery can be combined with other treatment methods for the best results.

With this information, we can conclude that Point occlusion surgery is the most preferred treatment option for dry eyes

Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

This is due to light from above heuristic.

Explanation:

In light from above heuristic, they we perceive spheres and indention are altered. Our eyes are so much used to of sunlight, that we assume that the light is coming from above and creating a presumption that light on the bottom creates an indention.

This is why Jimmy perceived bumps originally when he looked the picture of the side of the submarine but later when he turned the picture upside down, what he originally perceived as bumps, now look like dents,
