A populist party appeals to common people who feel disenfranchised by more elite groups.

In the United States, the People's Party also referred to as the Populist Party or simply the Populists was a left-wing, agrarian populist political party in the late 19th century. a US political party that promoted free coinage of gold and silver, increased currency issuance, public ownership of railroads, and a graduated federal income tax in the 1890s in an effort to represent the interests of farmers and laborers. They sought to make life better for farmers and other agricultural workers in the nation. A graduated income tax, direct Senate elections, a shorter workweek, restrictions on immigration to the United States, and public ownership of railroads and communication lines were also proposed in the platform. Voters in the South, the Great Plains, and the Rocky Mountains responded to the populists' message the most strongly.

Identify the FALSE statement. a. The contacts between plates are called passive margins. b. Plates shift the continents around a
Sergio [31]

Answer:

The answer is Option "d."

Explanation:

All other options except option d can be considered true. The points between to plates are referred to as passive margins. The earth's surface is not one solid piece. Instead, it consists of plates that are always moving, therefore, the earth's surface is constantly changing. Finally, the plates may be made of both ocean floor and continental crust, or all ocean floor.

However, there are NOT 12 major plates as option d indicates. There are instead 7 major tectonic plates as listed down below:

1. Antarctic Plate

2. Indo-Australian Plate

3. North American Plate

4. Pacific Plate

5. South American Plate

6. African Plate

7. Eurasian Plate

Therefore, the false option is option d.
