When the effects of two or more explanatory factors cannot be distinguished, confounding occurs in a research. As a result, any relationship that could exist between an explanatory variable and the response variable could be the result of one or more other factors that were not taken into consideration during the investigation.

<h3 /><h3>What is lurking variable?</h3>

Looming variables are unknown and uncontrollable elements that significantly affect the variables of concern. They may provide the appearance that the connection between the dependent and independent variables is different than it is, despite the fact that they are inconsequential factors. In other words, the influences will distort your results. You will get false results from whatever correlation or regression analysis you perform. How misleading these analyses are will rely on how much the hidden variables affect the dependent variable.

Explain what is meant by confounding. what is a lurking variable? what is a confounding variable?

Answer:

A Confounding is the variable that is considered in a research study, and could overall influence the relations between the variables in the study. For example, students wanting to join AP English next semester were told to write a six page essay. When the students turned in their papers and teachers say the difference and grades they believed that the variable was the time that the students handed in the paper. They thought that if the student handed in their paper later than another student that they would receive a lower score, but this was not the case. When asking the students how they prepared for the paper, students replied with different answers. Those who outlined and used other literature for reference scored much higher than those who only used prior knowledge to write their essays. In this study, the lurking variable would be the presence of an outline.

Lurking variable: A variable that is not considered in a research study that could influence the relations between the variables in the study

Confounding variable: A variable that is considered in a research study that could influence the relations between the variables in the study

Find the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line through the point (0, -4) and (1, 0).
Arisa [49]

Answer:

The Slope Intercept form of the equation through the point (0, -4) and

(1, 0)  is  y = 4 x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the given points are A (0,-4) and B(1,0)

Now, slope of the equation with points (a,b) and (c,d) is given as

m = \frac{d - b}{c -a}

So, here the slope of the line AB is given as:

m = \frac{0 - (-4)}{1-0} = \frac{4}{1}  = 4

⇒ m = 4

Now, by POINT SLOPE  form:

The equation with slope m and point  (x0 , y0) is represented as :

(y-y0)  = m (x-x0)

⇒ The equation of AB is of the form with point (1,0) is

y - 0 = 4 (x -1)

or, y = 4 x - 1

Also, the SLOPE INTERCEPT form of an equation is of the form

y = m x + C ;     m = slope and C =  y -intercept

Hence, the slope intercept form of the equation through the point (0, -4) and (1, 0)  is  y = 4 x - 1

GenaCL600 [577]
Figure out how many cups of sugar are in 1/3 cup flour: 9/4÷2= 9/4÷1/2= 1 1/8. Multiply by 3: 1 1/8x3= 9/8x3/1= 27/8= 3 3/8. 3 and 3/8 cup of sugar for 1 cup flour. :)

Point A is at (6,-6) and point C is at(-6,-2). find the coordinates of B on AC so that AB= 3/4AC.
loris [4]

Answer:

B(-6, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

You want to find B such that ...

(B -A) = (3/4)(C -A) . . . . the required distance relation

4(B -A) = 3(C -A) . . . . . . multiply by 4

4B = 3C +A . . . . . . . . . . add 4A, simplify

Now, we can solve for B and substitute the given coordinates:

B = (3C +A)/4 = (3(-6, -2) +(-6, 6))/4 = (-24, 0)/4 = (-6, 0)

The coordinates of point B are (-6, 0).

Hope it helped u if yes mark me BRAINLIEST!

Construct the graph of the equation y=kx if it is known that the point B belongs to the graph. The graph of which of these two e
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

The graph with B(2,-3) i.e) y=\frac{-3}{2} x goes through the point M(-10,15).

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider M(-10,15) and given that equation is y = kx.

Now, substitute M(-10,15) in the equation

⇒ 15 = k × -10

⇒ k = \frac{15}{-10} = \frac{-3}{2}

⇒ y = \frac{-3}{2} x

Now, check with the given points B(2,-3) and B(3\frac{1}{3} , -2)

1) B(2,-3)

y = \frac{-3}{2} x

⇒(-3) = \frac{-3}{2} × 2

⇒ -3 = -3 ⇒ LHS = RHS

⇒ B(2,-3) is the required point.

2) for b(3\frac{1}{3} , -2)

LHS ≠ RHS.

So,The graph with B(2,-3) i.e) y=\frac{-3}{2} x goes through the point M(-10,15).
