5. Which of the following graphs shows the solution set to 4x – 5 ≥ 3 or 5 – x > 8?

8 0

Second option

Also, the reason it can not be the third one is because the circle at -3 is shaded in, meaning x can equal - 3, whereas its not present in this inequality: 5 – x > 8

5 - x = 8

+x

5 = x + 8

-8

-3 = x

(when solving for x, make sure its positive, that's why I started of by adding x on both sides. It makes it easier to figure out the values that works of x. )

Hope this helps!

Answer:

D) a 360° clockwise rotation about the center of the parallelogram will take the parallelogram <em>PQRS </em> onto itself.

Step-by-step explanation:

The parallelogram <em>PQRS </em>is in quadrant III (3) of the coordinate plane.  If the image is reflected over the line x = -5 or y = -5, it would be the mirror image of itself and would move either left (x = -5) or down (y = -5) over the lines.  A 180°  rotation about the center of the parallelogram would move the object to quadrant I (1).  However, a 360° clockwise rotation about the center of the parallelogram would cause the object to make a full circle and take the  parallelogram <em>PQRS </em> onto itself.

Sum and difference tan(135+30)
Mumz [18]
\tan(x+y)=\dfrac{\sin(x+y)}{\cos(x+y)}=\dfrac{\sin x\cos y+\sin y\cos x}{\cos x\cos y-\sin x\sin y}=\dfrac{\tan x+\tan y}{1-\tan x\tan y}

So,

\tan(135^\circ+30^\circ)=\dfrac{\tan135^\circ+\tan30^\circ}{1-\tan135^\circ\tan30^\circ}

You should know that \tan135^\circ=-1 and \tan30^\circ=\dfrac1{\sqrt3}

Putting everything together,

\tan(135^\circ+30^\circ)=\dfrac{-1+\dfrac1{\sqrt3}}{1-(-1)\left(\dfrac1{\sqrt3}\right)}=\dfrac{1-\sqrt3}{\sqrt3+1}=\sqrt3-2

nirvana33 [79]
This question is a little bit tricky. Anyway, the best answer to the question would be 2 points. The expected value of the number of points he will score would be two points in <em>every successful </em>free throw attempt he makes. It just has a probability of .40 - which means that ,say,  in 10 free throw shots, there's a tendency he will only make 4 of them.
