The radius of the cylinder is 2m and the height of the cylinder is 7m

The formula for the surface area of the cylinder is = 2Πr(h + r)

                    Where, r = radius of the cylinder

                                  h = height of the cylinder

We have been given that,

          Surface area of the cylinder = 640.56 m^2

   Let height of the cylinder be x meters

     And radius of the cylinder will be (x-5)

Putting the required values in formula we get,

    2 * 3.14 * x (x - 5 + x) = 640.56

    6.28x(2x - 5) = 64.56

      2x^2 - 5x = 102

     2x^2 - 5x – 102 = 0

Now we will use quadratic formula to know the roots of x

That is,  x = [5 ± √25 + 408]/4

                x = [5 ± 20.8]/4

x = (5 – 20.8)/4            and          x = (5 + 20.8)/4

x = -4                            and         x = 7

neglecting the negative value

Thus radius of the cylinder = 2m

And height of the cylinder = 7m

Which of the following equations represents the area of a sector?
Rina8888 [55]

From the given options we can say that the only one that represents the area of the sector is; A = n/360 * πr²

What is the Area of the Sector?

In circles, a sector is said to be a part of a circle made of the arc of the circle together with its two radii. This means that it is a portion of the circle formed by a portion of the circumference (arc) and radii of the circle at both endpoints of the arc.

The formula for Area of a sector is given as;

θ/360 * πr²

where;

θ is the central angle of the sector

r is radius

Now, looking at the given options we can say that the only one that represents the area of the sector is;

A = n/360 * πr²

where n is the central angle of the sector
