Answer:

(-∞, ∞)

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain of a function is the set of all possible input values (x-values).

An asymptote is a line that the curve gets infinitely close to, but never touches.

The arrows on either end of a graphed curve show that the function <u>continues indefinitely</u>.  Therefore, we cannot assume there is an asymptote at x = -3 as we cannot see what happens to the curve as x approaches -∞.

Therefore, the domain of the given function is unrestricted:

  • Solution:  { x | -∞ < x < ∞ }
  • Interval notation:  (-∞, ∞)

Answer:

<u>D: (-3,∞).</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Keep in mind that the domain of a function that we see in a graph is basically just from what x point to what x point the function moves. In other words, the domain is to say what is the horizontal extension that the function occupies on the cartesian plane.

In this case, as you may see, the fuction seems to go all the way to infinite +x, becaue the arrow goes to the right and it doesn't seem to stop after the graph cuts. Now, the other end of this interval appears to be x= -3. because the line of the fuction gets close to that x value but never touches it, probably because the function has an asymptote on the value x= -3.

Therefore, on mathematical notation, the intervar of the domain of this function should be expressed like this:

D: (-3,∞).

Note that we use parenthesis next to the -3, because we assumed that the function never touches the value, because it doesn't have it as domain, but it goes close to it. Also, we used parenthesis next to the infinity symbol because infinity is always notated like that, always goes with parenthesis.

In case you have a function that does include the values that you type in the interval, you would type a "{" or "}" next to the number. Example:

D: {4, 5}

Answer:

Function, in mathematics, an expression, rule, or law that defines a relationship between one variable (the independent variable) and another variable (the dependent variable). Functions are ubiquitous in mathematics and are essential for formulating physical relationships in the sciences.As we have seen in examples above, we can represent a function using a graph. Graphs display many input-output pairs in a small space. ... The most common graphs name the input value x and the output value y , and we say y is a function of x , or y=f(x) y = f ( x ) when the function is named f .

[30 POINTS] Please help!!!
Len [333]

Answer:

Part 1) y=1.5x+5

Part 2) y=-(2/3)x-(11/3)

Part 3) y=0.25x+2.75

Part 4) y=-2x+5

Part 5) y=0.5x-1

Part 6) The graph in the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1) we have

m=3/2=1.5

point(-2,2)

The equation of the line into point slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

substitute

y-2=1.5(x+2)

y=1.5x+3+2

y=1.5x+5

Part 2) we know that

If two lines are perpendicular

then

the product of their slopes is equal to minus one

so

m1*m2=-1

the slope of the line 1 is equal to

m1=1.5

Find the slope m2

1.5*m2=-1

m2=-2/3

Find the equation of the line 2

we have

m2=-2/3

point(-7,1)

The equation of the line into point slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

substitute

y-1=(-2/3)(x+7)

y=-(2/3)x-(14/3)+1

y=-(2/3)x-(11/3)

Part 3) we have

m=1/4=0.25

point(1,3)

The equation of the line into point slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

substitute

y-3=0.25(x-1)

y=0.25x-0.25+3

y=0.25x+2.75

Part 4) we have

m=-2

b=5 -----> y-intercept

we know that

The equation of the line into slope intercept form is equal to

y=mx+b

substitute the values

y=-2x+5

Part 5) we have that

The slope of the line 4 is equal to -2

so

the slope of the line perpendicular to the line 4 is equal to

-2*m=-1\\m=(1/2)=0.5

therefore

in this problem we have

m=0.5

point(-2,-2)

The equation of the line into point slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

substitute

y+2=0.5(x+2)

y=0.5x+1-2

y=0.5x-1

Part 6)

using a graphing tool

see the attached figure
