The Andes in western South America is an example of a landform that arises from the movement of the tectonic plates.

The Andes mountain range is the mountain range that runs along South America's whole Pacific Ocean coast in the west. It is the world's longest continental mountain range, stretching 8500 km.

It was created by the convergence of the South American and Nazca plates towards the end of the Late Cretaceous, at the end of the Mesozoic era. In the relief configuration, seismic movements and consequent volcanic activity have been more significant than external erosive processes.

There are high mountain ranges in the existing morphology, as well as broad high plateaus, deep longitudinal valleys, and vast mountain ranges. Except for in the Argentine-Chilean Andes, transversal valleys are uncommon.

Gold and diamond deposits were uncovered in Brazil in 1690, which triggered an expansion in the importation of African slaves to power this newly profitable market. According to this map, how did the United States answer the Soviet threat of missiles in Cuba?
Liula [17]

The correct answer is - by blockading the island with aircraft carriers.

After Castro came to power in Cuba, he immediately made an alliance with the Soviet Union. That was a devastating news for the United States, as that meant that their arch rival will be able to make its basis right next door to their territory.

The United States responded by blocking the island as much as possible, by using numerous aircraft carriers that circled around the island, they were trying to threaten them, and also to be able to block or to respond quickly to any attack from Cuban territory.
