The product formed by substitution reaction between Cl₂ and ethane is 1,1-dichloroetahane.

What is an Addition reaction?

Addition reaction are those in which unsaturated molecules combines with each other to form saturated compound.

Now,

This addition reaction takes place acoording to Markovnikov's rule.

According to this rule, negative part of reactant attacks to that carbon atom which has less number of hydrogen atom.

And the positive part of reactant attacks to that carbon atom which has more number of carbon atom.

According to the given reaction H₂O breaks down into H⁺ and OH⁻.

Since, 3-hexene is a symmetrical structure. So, OH⁻ attacks on whichever part the product formed will be same.

Equation:

CH₃CH₂CH=CHCH₂CH₃+ H₂O (H⁺ Catalyst) → CH₃CH₂CHOH-CH₂CH₂CH₃

3-hexene hexan-3-ol

b) When alkyl halide react with alcoholic KOH which supports Elimination Reaction.

The product of this reaction is either cis-2-pentene or trans-2-pentene

But, trans-2-pentene is more symmetrical than cis-2-pentene.

Hence, the major product of this reaction is trans-2-pentene along with KBr and ethanol .

Equation:

CH₃CHBrCH₂-CH₂CH₃ + C₂H₅⁻- OK⁺ → CH₃CH=CHCH₂CH₃ + KBr + C₂H₅OH

2-Bromopentane trans-2-Pentene

What is Substitution Reaction ?

The reaction in which an atom, ion, or group of atoms and ions in a molecule is replaced by another atom, ion, or group of atoms and ions.

Now,

When ethane reacts with chlorine it forms Chloroethane

Equation:

C₂H₆ + Cl₂ → C₂H₅Cl + HCl

                       Chloroethane

Again, Chloroethane when reacts with chlorine it forms 1,1-dichloroetahane.

Equation:

C₂H₅Cl + Cl₂ → C₂H₄Cl₂ + HCl

                           1,1-dichloroetahane

Thus from the above conclusion we can say that the product formed by substitution reaction between Cl₂ and ethane is 1,1-dichloroetahane.

Which are produced when HCl reacts with Ca(OH)2?
Ganezh [65]
CaCl2 + H2O are produced when HCl react with Ca(OH)2

     Explanation
equation for reaction is as follows

Ca(OH)2 + 2HCl → CaCl2 +2H2O

1 mole of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2 reacted with 2 moles of hydrochroric acid (HCl) to form 1 moles of calcium chloride CaCl2 and water H2O. This type of reaction is known as neutralization reaction since it between an acid (HCl) and a base (Ca(OH)2
