Well, it's been quite a while since I've done this, and i might be a little rusty so you might just want to double check, but chemistry in a way is kind of basically common sense in a way, so if your atom is neutral and you need to determine the protons, neutrons, and electrons, I would say that you need to calculate and find the one that would most likely, or is neutral. I don't know if this will be of much help, but as of right now it's the best that i can do.

N2 + 3 H2 → 2 NH3
choli [55]

Answer:

Explanation:

N₂ + 3 H₂ → 2 NH₃

1 mole 3 moles 2 moles

3.45 moles 10.35moles 6.90 moles

So 3.45 moles of nitrogen will require 10.35 moles of hydrogen

But hydrogen available is only 4.85 so this gas is the limiting reagent and product will be formed according to its mass .

a )

3 moles of hydrogen can form 2 moles of ammonia

4.85 moles of hydrogen will form 2 x 4.85 / 3 moles of ammonia

= 3.23 moles .

b ) hydrogen is the limiting reagent .

c ) Excess reactant is nitrogen

3 moles hydrogen need 1 mole of nitrogen

4.85 moles of hydrogen will need 4.85 / 3 moles of nitrogen

= 1.62 moles of nitrogen .

excess nitrogen = 3.45 - 1.62

= 1.83 moles.

How many water molecules would be produced in making a polypeptide that is 14 amino acids long?
Kobotan [32]
13 Amino acids have a common structure where there is a carboxyl group at one end (CO2H) and a amino group at the other (NH2). There's also a side chain that's unique for every amino acid. When two amino acids are joined in producing a polypeptide, the carboxyl and amino groups are linked with the release of a water molecule. So in this problem, you simply need to count the number of links, which will be 1 less than the number of amino acids in the chain. Hence, for a 14 amino acid chain, you need 13 links which produced 13 water molecules.

A 1. 00 ml sample of an unknown gas effuses in 11. 1 min. an equal volume of h2 in the same apparatus under the same conditions
Damm [24]

A 1. 00 ml sample of an unknown gas effuses in 11. 1 min. an equal volume of h2 in the same apparatus under the same conditions effuses in 2. 42 minutes then the molar mass of the unknown gas is 41.9.

Molar mass of H2 = 2

Molar mass of unknown gas = ?

rate 1 = 11.1

rate 2 = 2.42

What is graham law?

Graham's law states that the rate of diffusion or effusion of a given gas is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar mass.

By apply graham law

Rate1/rate2 = sqrt(MW2/MW1)

[\frac{rate1}{rate2} ]^{2} = \frac{MW2}{2} \\\\\\mw= 2[\frac{11.1}{2.42} ]^{2} \\\\= 20.97 X 2 \\\\= 41.9

Thus, we found that the molar mass of the unknown gas is 41.9.

1) Which term describes the conversion of substances into different substances?(1 point)
lara [203]

A chemical reaction occurs when substances change. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants produce food.

1) A chemical reaction is a process by which substances can be changed into other substances. Hence, in a chemical reaction, new substances are formed.

2) Photosynthesis is the process by which plants produce food using carbon dioxide and water in the process of sunlight and chlorophyll. Glucose is produced during photosynthesis and the energy produced and stored as starch.

3) Valence electrons show the kind of bond that an atom can form. Reaction between two atoms that have many valence electrons is most likely covalent. An ionic bond is formed between an atom that has few valence electrons and an atom that has many valence electrons.

4) A carbohydrate is a compound that comprises of hydrogen and oxygen in a ratio of 2:1. The compound that is a carbohydrate is C3H6O3.

5) Rocks contain iron. Iron oxides form when cyanobacteria produce oxygen via photosynthesis.
