Why does dog saliva heal wounds
miss Akunina [59]
Dog Saliva actually doesn't have any healing properties, this is just a myth that is easy to explain. There is a however easier explanation. A dog's tongue is rough which drags pathogens off of a wound, and also debrides damaged tissues of the wound.

I still wouldn't have a wound licked by a dog though, as the saliva still has a number of bacteria that can cause an infection.

Hypothalamus signals the adrenal glands to produce hormones
Setler79 [48]

The given statement is true.

What is the hypothalamus?

Your body's sophisticated control and coordination center is located in your brain's hypothalamus. Its major job is to maintain homeostasis, a constant state of equilibrium in your body. It works by controlling hormones or by directly affecting your autonomic nervous system.

Corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), which is produced by the brain, causes the pituitary gland to secrete adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH). The adrenal glands are then stimulated by ACTH to produce and release cortisol hormones into the blood.
