Step 1: find the area of the base
A=l*w = 8.25*5.5 = 45.375

Step 2: find the perimeter of the base
P=2l+2w = 2(8.25) + 2(5.5) = 16.5 + 11 = 27.5

Step 3: find the surface area of the prism
SA=2A+Ph = 2(45.375) + 27.5(4.5) = 90.75 + 123.75 = 214.5

Hope this helps

As , we know Total surface area of Right rectangular prism or Cuboid is given by the formula -

2(lb+bh+hl)

where , l , b and h are length , Breadth and hieght respectively.

So, Total surface area of the given rectangular prism →

2{(8.25×5.5)+(5.5×4.5)+(4.5×8.25)}

= 2{45.375+24.75+37.125}

= 2{107.25}

= 214.5 cm²

Answer ) 214.5 cm² of gift wrap is needed.

A square has an area of 64 square units. A cube has a volume of 64 cubic units. What is the difference in the side length of the
Rina8888 [55]
The formula in solving the area of a square is Area = a² where "a" is for the length of the side. The area formula in solving a cube is Area = 6a² where "a" is for the length of its side.
Area of square = a²
64 = a²
a = 8 units

Area of cube = 6a²
64= 6a²
a = 3.27 units

The difference of side of the square and side of the cube is shown below:
Difference = 8 - 3.27
Difference = 4.73 units.

The answer is 4.73 units.
