When the government transfer resources to the poor in the form of a good or service it is called an in-kind transfer.

Many countries government provide large in-kind transfer resources to the poor in the form of a good or service. These transfers are commonly referred to as government redistribution programs, presumably from the wealthy to the poor.

The term in-kind transfers generally refers to goods, services, and transactions not involving money or not measured in monetary terms are transferred to the needy.

Hence, the in-kind transfers is based on the idea that governments want to target transfers to the needy.

Akimi4 [234]

Answer:

$6 million

Explanation:

If 25% of the firm is worth $1.5 million, then 100% of the firm will be worth $6 million (= $1.5 million x 4).

This is an all equity firm, which means it has no liabilities, and it is also a closely held corporation which makes it harder for a stockholder to sell his/her shares. Basically the fair value of the 1,000 shares is the money you can get from your fellow shareholders.

Industrial Machines needs to purchase a new machine costing $1.25 million. Management is estimating the machine will generate ca
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

The firm shouldn't purchase the machine because the IRR is less than the required minimum

Explanation:

Internal rate of return is the discount rate that equates the after tax cash flows from an investment to the amount invested

IRR can be calculated using a financial calcuator

Cash flow in year 0 = $-1.25 million.

Cash flow in year 1 = $210,000

Cash flow in year 2 to 5 = $350,000

IRR = 8.51%

The firm shouldn't purchase the machine because the IRR is less than the required minimum

To find the IRR using a financial calculator:

1. Input the cash flow values by pressing the CF button. After inputting the value, press enter and the arrow facing a downward direction.

2. After inputting all the cash flows, press the IRR button and then press the compute button

Starlight Company has inventory of 8 units at a cost of $200 each on October 1. On October 2, it purchased 20 units at $205 each
scoray [572]

Answer:

$3,445

Explanation:

Starlight Company has inventory of 8 units at a cost of $200 each on October 1.

On October 2, it purchased 20 units at $205 each.

11 units are sold on October 4.

Using the LIFO perpetual inventory method, the value of inventory after the October 4 sale will be:

Date   Particulars                    Unit   Cost  Balance

Oct 1  Beginning inventory     8     $200

Oct 2 Purchases                   20    $205    28

Oct 4 Sales                             11     $205    17

The 17 units are made up of the balance of 9 from the purchases on Oct 2, and the 8 units of opening inventory.

Hence the value of inventory after the sale is (9 x $205) + (8 x $200) = $3,445

- $3,485.- $3,445.- $3,500.- $3,472.- $3,461.

Consider two goods--one that generates external benefits and another that generates external costs. A competitive market economy
KiRa [710]

Answer:

Produce more of the good that generates external cost and less of the good that creates external benefit.

Explanation:

External benefits refer to the situation where the benefit of production of goods or services goes to a third party that is not directly involved in the process of production.

Similarly, external cost refers to the situation where the cost of production of goods and services is borne by a third party which is not directly involved in the process of production.

A competitive market economy would tend to produce more of the good that generates external cost and less of the good that creates external benefit. This is because in case of external cost the private cost will be lower than social cost, so the firms will be able to produce more of the good.
