The largest area that Steve can make with a fence of 60 feet is 225 feet²

What is an equation?

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more numbers and variables.

An independent variable is a variable that does not depends on other variable while a dependent variable is a variable that depends on other variable.

Let x represent the length and y represent the width, hence:

2(x + y) = 60

x + y = 30

y = 30 - x

The area (A) is:

A = xy

A = x(30 - x) = 30x - x²

The maximum area is at A' = 0, hence:

A' = 30 - 2x

30 - 2x = 0

2x = 30

x = 15 feet

y = 30 - 15 = 15 feet

Area = 15 * 15 = 225 feet²

The largest area that Steve can make with a fence of 60 feet is 225 feet²

rosijanka [135]

Answer:

Salaries for computer technicians at Company A vary more than salaries at Company B.

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason why salaries for computer technicians at Company A vary more than salaries at Company B.

Range of Company A = $63,000 − $41,000 = $22,000; Range of Company B = $65,000 − $45,000 = $20,000. → $22,000 > $20,000
