Pricing Practice A pizza parlor sells its large pizza at $15 each. At that price, the current sales are 1,000 units per week. Th
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

Selling price = $ 15

Variable cost = $ 5

Sales per week = 1000 units

Price promotion = 20%

New selling price after price promotion = 15*(1-.2) = $ 12

-----------------------------

1)

Total profit before price promotion = 1000*(15-5) = $ 10,000 per week

New profit contribution per unit, after price promotion = 12-5 = $ 7

Sales required = Total profit before price promotion / New profit contribution per unit

= 10000 / 7

= 1429 units

Increase in sales required = 1429 - 1000

= 429 units (over and above the existing sales of 1000 units)

-----------------------------

2)

Total sales required = (profit before price promotion + Advertising expense) / New profit per unit

= (10000+400)/7

= 1486 units

Total Increase in sales required = 1486 - 1000

= 486 units (over and above the existing sales of 1000 units)

-----------------------------

3)

New profit per unit = 7+1 = $ 8

Total sales required = (profit before price promotion + Advertising expense) / New profit per unit

= (10000+400)/8

= 1300 units

Increase in sales required = 1300 - 1000

= 300 units

rjkz [21]

Answer:

Monthly deposit= $45,172.20

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Travis International has a one-time expense of $1.13 million that must be paid two years from today. The firm can earn 4.3 percent, compounded monthly, on its savings.

To calculate the monthly deposit, we need to use the following variation of the future value formula:

FV= {A*[(1+i)^n-1]}/i

A= monthly deposit

Isolating A:

A= (FV*i)/{[(1+i)^n]-1}

i= 0.043/12= 0.003583

n= 2*12= 24

A= (1,130,000*0.003583)/ [(1.003583^24)-1]

A= 45,172.20

The formula for finding the net present value of a cash outflow now, a positive cash flow in 1 year, a positive cash flow in 2 y
melamori03 [73]

The formula for finding the net present value is -C0 + [C1 / (1 + r)] + [C1 / (1 + r)²] + [C1 / (1 + r)³].

What is the net present value?

The net present value is a capital budgeting method. Net present value is the present value of after-tax cash flows from an investment less the amount invested.

Only projects with a positive net present value should be accepted. A project with a negative net present value should not be chosen because it isn't profitable. When choosing between positive net present value projects, choose the project with the highest net present value first because it is the most profitable.

An advantage of the net present value method of capital budgeting is that it considers the times value of money. A disadvantage of net present value is that it is difficult to estimate the accurate discount rate.

Assume that a war breaks out abroad, and foreign investors choose to invest more in a large safe country, the United States. The
goldenfox [79]

Answer: the U.S. real interest rate and net exports will both rise.

Explanation: Due to the ongoing war abroad, there would be a reduction in production of goods and services in the affected countries and a rise in the production of goods and services in the safe haven country (US) leading to increased levels of export to meet the demand.

War affects investments negatively. As a result, investments are also moved to the US for safety. However, pressure on US producers and eventual shortage due to increased exports, would lead to inflation and increase in prices of goods and services. To mitigate these effects and to reduce the supply of money, government would increase interest rates.

This explains why both interest rates and export both rise.
