The probability of producing plants with white axial flowers is 1/16.

The given question is based on the law of independent assortment. There are two parents out of which one has red, axial flowers (RY) and the other one has white, terminal flowers (ry).

In F1 generation, all individuals have red, axial flowers which is RrYy which results in the formation of 8 gametes which is 4 from each parent. When these gametes are crossed with each other individually using a punett square, it results in the formation of 16 offspring out of which only one offspring has white terminal flowers.

Thus, the probability of producing plants with white axial flowers is 1/16.
