5 students took part in both individual and team events.

<h3>What is data?</h3>

Data is information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing. Relative to today's computers and transmission media, data is information converted into binary digital form. It is acceptable for data to be used as a singular subject or a plural subject.

Given:

Total students participated = 27

20 students participated in individual events

12 students took part in team events.

We have N(All students) = 27

N(individual) = 20

N(Team)= 12

So,

N_{\text{individual \; and \; team}} & = N_{\text{individual}} + N_{\text{team}} - N_{\text{All students}}

=20+12-27

=32-27

=5

Hence, 5 students took part in both individual and team events.

A furniture designer builds a trapezoidal desk with a semicircular cutout. What is the area of the desk?
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

Area = 26478cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment for desk

Required

The area

First, calculate the area of the semicircular cutout

Area = \frac{\pi r^2}{2}

Where

r = 60cm

So:

A_1 = \frac{3.14 * 60^2}{2}

A_1 = \frac{11304}{2}

A_1 = 5652cm^2

Next, the area of the complete trapezium

Area= \frac{1}{2}(a + b) * h

Where

a = 300

b = 2 * r = 2 * 60 = 120

h = 153

So:

A_2 = \frac{1}{2} * (300 + 120) * 153

A_2 = \frac{1}{2} * 420 * 153

A_2 = 32130cm^2

The area of the desk is:

Area = A_2 - A_1

Area = 32130cm^2 - 5652cm^2

Area = 26478cm^2

Madelyn hikes 190.5 meters up a mountain. If she is 62% of the way up, how tall is the mountain?
ira [324]

Answer:

307 Meters

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{62}{100} = 190.5\\&#10;Cross multiply:&#10;&#10;62w = 100(190.5)&#10;&#10;Multiply 100 by 190.5:&#10;&#10;62w = 19,050&#10;&#10;Solve for w:&#10;&#10;Divide both sides by 19,050 to isolate the variable and get the answer&#10;&#10;19,050/62 = 307.25.....&#10;&#10;~ After rounding to the nearest percent, the answer is 307
