To  prepare flight muscles for use on a cool morning, hawkmoths rapidly contract and relax these muscles to generate metabolic warmth, thus the correct option is  C

Hawk moths require a preparatory period of wing vibration to elevate the temperature of the flight muscle before they can perform regulated flight. Thus these moths initially increases the temperature between 34- 45 degree Celsius. But after the flight all flew at same temperature. The flight temperature and wing loading have a positive relationship. In  Hawk moths  the thoratic temperature increase with increase in wing beating frequency.
