The characteristics of Jefferson which was applied to the government include a limited government, natural right of law and equality.

Jefferson believed that the natural right of law should be exhibited which means that everyone is equal under the law and no person is greater than others when it comes to issues pertaining to law.

According to him, the government should be prevented from infringing on the rights that the citizens has.

Jefferson believes that everyone in the citizens has the right to freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly etc..
