The location of R on the number line will be 15/7.

Number line:

Number line is used for the visual representation of numbers on a straight line.

Basically, Zero (0) is considered to be the origin of a number line. The numbers to the left of 0 are negative numbers and the numbers to the right of 0 are all positive numbers.

Given,

On a number line,

point S is located at – 3 and

point T is located at 9.

Ratio of S and T = 3:4

We need to find the location of point R on S and T.

According to the given details,

The distance from S to T

=> 3 + 9 = 12

Through this we know that,

=> SR + RT = 12 ---------------------(1)

Based on the ratio,

S/T = 3/4

Which is similar to,

SR/RT = 3/4

So,

SR = 3/4 RT -----------(2)

Apply the value of SR on equation (1),

Then

3/4RT + RT = 12

=> 7/4 RT = 12

=> RT = 12 x (4/7)

=> RT = 48/7

Now the location of point R,

=> OT - RT = 9 - 48/7

=> 15/7

Hence "The location of R on the number line will be 15/7".

Use the graph to fill in the blank with the correct number.
WITCHER [35]

Answer:

f(0) = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) indicates the "output" value present at the "input" (Output referring to the y value and input referring to the x value). So f(0) would mean the "y" value present at x = 0; however, there are two circles at x = 0. One of the dots is open(hollow) meaning that the "x" and "y" values present there are excluded. This leaves the closed(filled) dot which means that value is included and is the answer.

Kyle's family bought 4 adult tickets and 2 student tickets for $52. Maria's family bought 3 adult tickets and 5 student tickets
Troyanec [42]
Adult tickets cost $10 each and student tickets cost $6 each.

Given:
Kyle's family bought 4 adult tickets and 2 student tickets for $52
Maria's family bought 3 adult tickets and 5 student tickets for 60.

Let us assign x as the adult tickets and y as the students tickets

Kyle's family:  4x + 2y = 52
Maria's family: 3x + 5y = 60

Let us find the value of x using Kyle's equation:
4x + 2y = 52
4x         = 52 - 2y
  x         = (52 - 2y)/4
  x         = 13 - y/2
Substitute the value of x in Maria's equation to find y.
3x + 5y = 60
3(13 - y/2) + 5y = 60
39 - 3y/2 + 5y = 60
     - 3y/2 + 5y = 60 - 39
     - 3y/2 + 5y = 21
  2(-3y/2 + 5y) = 2(21)
     -3y + 10y = 42
               7y = 42
           7y/7 = 42/7
                y = 6

x = 13 - y/2
x = 13 - 6/2
x = 13 - 3
x = 10

To check:
Kyle's Family                      Maria's Family
4x + 2y = 52                        3x + 5y = 60
4(10) + 2(6) = 52                  3(10) + 5(6) = 60
40 + 12 = 52                        30 + 30 = 60
52 = 52                                 60 = 60
